Small towns need better education

We all know that 31%of Indian population is under 14 and and 50% is under 25. Government is making policies to impart education and has given right to education as a fundamental right. But condition of education is very poor. Government run schools in small town (what to talk of villages) lack good educational environment and good teachers. Today when children in metros are playing mobile games and computer games an average child of 10th standard in a small town does not know how to work on computer. They don't have access to internet. Its election time different parties are promising better future for our country but one thing I would like to say that nothing will help us as long as we are neglecting our children specially those living in small towns and villages. Still India lives in villages

Phoola’s solution for corruption against women

I live in a state where crime against women is very common. Even in 21st century when everything has reached its maximal or is reaching its maximal, women’s position is getting worst.Every  morning news paper tells us about cruelty faced by women in one or the other form. All this was making me tensed.

I thought of sharing it with one of my good friend named Anamika.  She is my school friend and understands me very well. I told her that I am unable to sleep at nights where is this world going; I am worried about the security of women. Indian society is turning into barbaric society.

She said, cool! Cool! Please don’t look at the darker side; it will be better if you think about your beautiful life instead.

Don’t start your morning with news paper filled with rubbish news; think about five things with which God has blessed.  She again insisted mind it   thinks positively, it will give you positive energy, will reduce your stress and you will be able to work better, your performance will improve many folds. I thought she is right and started following her instructions, stopped reading news paper in the morning time and had no time to read newspaper  afterwards, if at all  I got an opportunity to go through the news paper I skipped those news. Of course I could not avoid getting informed about such things but tried my best not to think about them and succeeded in doing so. Oh! Great! I was happy and was free from sleepless nights. Things went on smoothly for many days and I started thinking everything is improving.  One fine morning when I reached my college everybody was distraught and were discussing about Delhi gang rape case that took place previous night.  I asked them about the incident and was shocked to know about the mishap and realized that thing don’t change on closing one’s eyes, they were getting worse and nothing had changed. I further realized that most of the people in our country are doing the same as I did; they all have closed their eyes and are living in peace. But what about the one who is suffering. Person, place and situation are changing but incidents are same.

I called   Anamika on phone and asked whether she has heard about the mishap, she too was very sad and started discussing about the incident and asked me to come to her house so that we can share our feeling and feel light.  We sat in the beautiful drawing room, everything was perfect as ever but today I could not appreciate them the way I use to do earlier. That day our conversation started with that brutal murder. Anamika was cursing all those who were involved in this and then to the police department and at last to Government and the girl who has suffered for going late at night. I asked her could you sleep last night. She could not answer my question. She kept quiet for some time and then asked me what we can do for it. I said sarcastically, close your eyes and forget everything at least we are happy by doing so. She then asked me what you can do for that.  I being little more concerned about society said it needs education, I will educate youth both male and female. She asked me to be more precise.   I said I will educate men folk to treat their female counterpart equally, I will ask them, please don’t give them special status treat them as an individual they are like you, sexuality should not come on way. Term weaker sex should be deleted from their dictionary.

It was a conversation with an optimistic lady who was happy most of the time, I think, such type of persons are must for our society otherwise we won’t be able to survive. She, I believe wanted to make our conversation light and said, “You only told me once that all these physical attractions are because of hormones only, this is all chemistry.”  You are right I said but this not attraction this is attack. Explosive reactions even if required are performed under controlled conditions.  God has given us natural controlling system known as brain which differentiate between human and animal, and let me inform you this too involves chemistry.

She said your natural controlling power has failed here, so what could be done now.

I said we are most evolved creature in this world. We are cultured; we have set rules and norms for everything. Crime can never be justified by chemistry.

She was also in a mood to discuss the thing and said that it is reported that majority of such crimes are done by people who live in poverty, so is poverty responsible for these crimes?

While we were talking about it my friend's made Phoola Bai entered the room with tea and joined us in our conversation. She started Madam Ji, these young girls are themselves responsible for everything. She was speaking nonstop, they are going to college, wearing western clothes, moving alone and worst thing is that they don’t listen to men.

My friend asked her maid but you are an obedient wife I think.

Maid replied – Yes

But you complain that your husband beats you off and on.

She said,” that is different he is my husband he has full right, he can do anything.”

My friend said,” you should not complain then”

She replied, Arrey Madam Ji, this all happens and only you Big Bai sahibs like you get disturbed.

Her sentence was shocking.

I said are you not affected by this.

She said, I feel bad, but can’t do anything so it’s better to accept it.

What you mean by accepting, I said

She replied, of course Delhi rape case was brutal and ended with the end of life but rape cases are quite common, we should not make this an issue.

We should treat it as theft or robbery, and forget it.

But theft and robbery too is not right, I said.

She was cool.

She smiled at me and asked, “Madam Ji, what all we do when there is a case of theft in our house.”

I got aggressive and said, we make report in police station and police catches those thieves.

She said, but I have never seen anybody getting back his valuables,

We sit at home and start earning to buy those things stolen.

I was looking at her with blank face.

She said smiling that if something of this type happens we should take complete bath and start our work.

I could not say anything to her.

Is it really possible?

Is her way of thinking correct can anybody live like that? Many questions were coming in my mind, all unanswered.

Are we so unsafe , is our government unable to protect us, and is forcing us to think like phoola?
